A series of portraits and photostories from Lebanon, Jordan, Iraqi Kurdistan and Turkey on assignment for SPARK, a Dutch NGO who create programmes on counter-extremism and radicalisation, as well as developing higher education and entrepreneurship programmes in post-conflict societies. Working alongside Sarah Page, we also created a series of audio interviews to accompany the photos. The project was exhibited a few months later at Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Amsterdam, Netherlands. The project aims to give refugees a counter-narrative, presenting their personal successes and demonstrate what can be achieved if people - particularly women - are given an opportunity.
